The Church considers people between the ages of 18 and 39 to be young adults. That's quite an age spread, and certainly there can be great differences among people's life situations throughout those years. Some young adults are in college, many are working, there are singles, people who are dating, and married couples with and without children.
The Diocese of Joliet offers a Young Adult Ministry (YAM) that seeks to provide programs, events, resources and opportunities for young adults directly and with other church groups and organizations in the Diocese working with young adults.
The Joliet Diocese works closely with several groups and organizations within its boundaries who are ministering to young adults. CLICK HERE and link to the Diocesan YAM page to view their Calendar. You'll see gatherings organized by YAM, but also find events, programs and opportunities planned by others that are open to all young adults.
Praise God! Our parish is growing with new young adult parishioners registering regularly, not to mention the existing 18 to 20-something members that have grown up and received their sacraments here at St. Joe's. From college age to second careers or newlyweds to young families, there is an opportunity to build a vibrant young adult community within our parish. Could you be the one God is asking to fill this role?
There are several surrounding parishes who are also working to create social and spiritual opportunities to grow in and share the Love of our Lord. Opportunities to offer a life-changing encounter with Jesus both as individuals and as a community.
If this invitation didn't shock you, and possibly even sounds familiar, just call Marta Spiezio and begin a very speacial journey with Jesus!
