Volunteer men and women who assist persons in need within our community to provide, food, clothing and financial assistance with rent, medical bills and utilities.
Hundreds of families each year receive groceries from our weekly SVDP Food Pantry that's run out of the Parish Center basement. The all volunteer staff works throughout the week, picking up donations, unloading trucks and organizing supplies all to prepare for each Thursday's Pantry Day. See the contact info below if you'd like to join the team!
Several times each year St. Joseph's also hosts the St. Vincent de Paul Clothing Drive over the time of our weekend Masses. The SVDP truck arrives before our Saturday 5pm Mass and stays through the Sunday morning Masses until 1pm. Clothing Drive dates: March 9 & 10, July 6 & 7, October 26 &27.
If you forget to bring your donations to church, St. Vincent de Paul offers home pickup service for clothing, furniture and household items. Call their dispatch center at 630-293-9755.
Attention Amazon Shoppers! You can help us by naming us as your charity of choice.
Please note, Confrence is spelled like some pronounce it without an “e” between the “f” and “r”. We ran out of space and had to shorten “Conference” to “Confrence”. A percentage of your purchase is automatically donated to our conference with every order you place.
Thank you for your support.
One of our long time Vincentians, Barb Patun, passed away October 27, 2020. She made many in-take calls and home visits during her 20 plus years of service. For home visits, she would pull out the following prayer and the other Vincentian accompanying her would pray this prayer before entering the dwelling:
Leading the Way
“Lord, inspire us today with the qualities of good leadership.
Give us insight to make wise decisions,
integrity to face the truth,
courage to make difficult choices and
compassion for the needs of others.
Make us a model of justice and honor to the world,
and, let us never forget that our job is
to serve both you and others.”
Amen
This prayer put God in the picture and helped her discern what action to take. She trusted in God’s help and she loved doing the work of a Vincentian. You can keep her spirit alive and help us in our mission by making a donation in memory of Barb Patun to:
