“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”Mark 10:14
Each time we attend a baptism, we as a church community make a promise, in front of God, to help bring up the newly baptized child in the Catholic faith. Here is your opportunity to continue living out that promise!
We are looking for energetic, faith-filled, parishioners to help share your faith with our children and youth in grades K-8 and their families. Catechists are a vital re-enforcement of the Christian teachings and values being modeled in the home.
Maybe you are called to experience the rewards of being a role model, being an inspiration to the future of our church, and being an essential part of family formation at St. Joseph.
If you would like to help, but are not comfortable teaching a class, there are other necessary roles you can fill. We also need nannies, aides in the classrooms and hall monitors to direct students and keep the building safe.
Our classes meet once a week (with some exceptions) September-May. We have a variety of days/times to choose from including Sunday morning, Wednesday afternoon or evening and Thursday afternoon.
All volunteer positions come with training and support!
